We started our first Book Club in August 2016, and now have 3 busy book clubs! Membership for each group ranges between seven to nine members to ensure that meetings can be held comfortably in each other's houses and build friendships.

A thriller, people are capable of almost anything and you never know what is happening on the other side of the wall.

 

Stay With Me by Ayobami Adebayo.   

The heart-breaking tale of what wanting a child can do to a person, a marriage and a family. The story is set against the social and political turbulence of 1980’s Nigeria.

Funny Girl by Nick Hornby.

Set in 1960’s London, an account of the adventures of the intrepid young Sophie Straw as she navigates her transformation from provincial ingenue to television starlet.

 

 

 

 

 

The Awakening of Miss Prim by Natalia Sanmartin Fenollera.

The Humans by Matt Haig.

The Bees by Laline Paull.

House of Mirth by Edith Wharton.  

Tells the story of Lily Bart, a well-born but impoverished woman belonging to New York City’s high society around the turn of last century.

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.  

The books narrator is Death regaling us with a remarkable tale of book burnings, treachery and theft set during the Nazi regime.

A Man called Ove by Fredrik Backman.

Quirky and bittersweet yet funny. A warm and tender story about love, loss and second chances.

Light Between Oceans by M L Stedman.

A heart-rending story of a lighthouse keeper and his wife who face a life-changing moral dilemma when a baby in a boat washes up on their island.

Three Sisters Three Queens by Philippa Gregory.

A historical novel that tells the stories of Margaret Tudor, Mary Tudor, Queen of France and Katherine of Aragon, three close friends who became the queens of England, Scotland and France, and find themselves set against each other.
